Puzzled, the old man started to dig, and imagine his surprise when countless glittering gold coins were revealed by his spade.
The gold coins seemed to be very old.
Hearing about this, the old man’s greedy neighbor kidnapped Pochi and took him up into the mountains.
“Dig, Pochi, dig!” he ordered. “Where are those gold coins? Come on, start digging!”
Fearing for his safety, Pochi found a spot and scratched at the ground, as if to say “Dig here.”
