Once upon a time there lived a kindhearted old man and his wife who found
a stray dog. They named it Pochi and took very good care of it.
One day, the old man went up into the mountains with Pochi.
Suddenly, Pochi stopped and began to bark loudly.
“Dig here,” he seemed to be saying, for he was scratching at the
ground with his front paws.
